How do I maintain my membership status?Updated a year ago
No minimum spend per year is required to maintain your Quartz membership status. It is a free, lifetime membership.
However, to maintain your Ruby or Diamond membership status, you must maintain the following minimum spend within 12 months from your tier join date :
Crystal Club Tier | Minimum spend per year |
Quartz | S$0 *All members start off with a Quartz membership! |
Ruby | S$500 – S$1499 |
Diamond | S$1500 – S$2999 |
Ruby and Diamond Crystal Club tiers work based on spend earned over a rolling 12-month period.
The 12-month rolling sum is the total amount from the past 12 months. As the 12-month period “rolls” forward each month, the amount from the latest month is added and the one-year-old amount is subtracted. The result is a 12-month sum that has rolled forward to the new month.
How does it work?
If a customer registers and spends S$50 on day 1. They will be in the Quartz tier, as their spending has not reached the threshold for the Ruby tier.
On day 150, they spend an additional S$500. As soon as they complete their purchase, they will be moved into the Ruby tier because their total spend in the last 12 months is now S$550. If nothing else changes, they will remain in the Ruby tier for 12 months, i.e. their Ruby tier membership would expire on day 515 (150+365 days).
Let's look at a few different scenarios now:
1) They don't purchase again. On day 515, their Ruby tier membership will expire and they'll be moved back into the Quartz tier.
2) On day 250, they spend S$1000. They will now be moved into the Diamond tier as their total spend in the last 12 months is now S$1550. They will remain in the Diamond tier for 12 months.
3) Let's assume that the customer then stays in the Diamond tier for 12 months (days 250 to 615) and, during that period, spends S$550 on day 500. On day 615, their Diamond tier membership will expire because they will have only spent S$550, not the S$1,500 needed to maintain in the Diamond tier. The customer will then be moved into the Ruby tier because their spending in the last twelve months is S$550, in the S$500- S$1499 range. They will remain in the Ruby tier for a further 12 months.
